Free & Equal News & Notes

It has been a busy couple of weeks for Free & Equal Elections.

Last Saturday, on July 4th, Free & Equal held a non-partisan Tea Party in Chicago at Navy Pier. The well-attended event featured speakers from across the political spectrum, including progressive activists, making the Free & Equal/ ReTea Party very different from other tea parties around the country.

This weekend, Free & Equal Elections is at Freedom Fest 2009 in Las Vegas.

Freedom Fest bills itself as the largest gathering of free minds in the world.

Free & Equal has a booth at the festival, and we are drumming up support and fundrasing for our upcoming lobbying campaigns and lawsuits.

The festival celebrates the free market, and many attendees have been shocked to find out just how closed the marketplace of ideas is when it comes to ballot access for Independent and Third Party candidates.

Free & Equal will continue to educate and inform the public about the atrocious state of ballot access in this country, and let people know what they can do about it.

Free & Equal is currently prepping Ballot Access Lawsuits in two states, and we are also close to announcing several Election Law Forums across the country, the first concerning California’s potential Top-Two primary.
