How many candidates ran for President of the United States in the 2008 general election?
If you guessed just two, you’re way off!
If you saw our Third Party Presidential Debate, you know of at least two more candidates…But you’re still waaay off!
In fact, SIX candidates appeared on enough state ballots to attain the 270 electoral votes required to become president.
But six is still not the answer!
A total of 24 candidates running for President appeared on at least one state ballot last year.
You read that right: 24 candidates.
Betcha didn’t catch that watching the mainstream media, did ya?
The Federal Elections Commission recently released the official popular vote totals from the 2008 election.
You can view the election totals here.
Just imagine the debate if only the six candidates who could have won 270 electoral votes were not ignored by the media!
Just imagine if our elections were truly Free & Equal, and candidates all across the political spectrum had their chance to be heard!
Just imagine if we the people actually had a real choice in who we vote for!
If we had a real choice in who we voted for, do you really think we would continue to elect the same old pork-loving, special interest catering, power hungry Democrats and Republicans?
Of course not. And that’s why they don’t want you to have a choice.
Many states now have restrictive requirements that make it extremely difficult, and in some cases nearly impossible, for Independent and Third Party candidates to place their names on the ballot.
This limits voter’s choices and ensures that the Two-Party duopoly can continue to ignore the will of the people.
The Free & Equal Elections Foundation is committed to reforming restrictive ballot access laws across the nation, so that all candidates have a chance to be heard, regardless of political affiliation.
Help us take back our government from the hands of the Two-Party Duopoly and the special interests!
Want a real choice on your ballot?
Then why not chip in $100, $50, $25, what ever you are able to give, to help us break the stranglehold the two parties have on our electoral process?
Donate to The Free & Equal Elections Foundation today, and ensure you have a chance to vote for who you really want to tomorrow!
