Second Illinois Gubernatorial Debate

Chicago, IL January 27th, 2010

Free and Equal held its second Illinois Gubernatorial Debate at 7pm on Wednesday, January 27th at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. The event was co-hosted by five University of Chicago student organizations: Students for a Free Society, Students for a Democratic Society, College Republicans, College Democrats and the student chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union.

Illinois Gubernatorial Debate:

Du Quoin, IL October 9th, 2009

The Illinois Gubernatorial Debate was held as part of the Midwest Liberty Fest on October 9th, 2009. All 13 candidates who had announced their intentions of running in the race were invited to participate. Free & Equal Founder and Chair Christina Tobin served as the moderator for the debate.

Free & Equal Presidential Debate:

Washington, DC October 23rd, 2008

During the 2008 Presidential Election, Free & Equal debuted with a Presidential Debate at the Mayflower Renaissance Hotel in Washington, DC.

Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin and Independent candidate Ralph Nader participated in a spirited contest moderated by award-winning journalist Chris Hedges.

The Free & Equal debate was the ONLY Presidential debate featuring Independent and Third-Party candidates held during the 2008 election to be broadcast to a national audience. The debate was broadcast LIVE on C-SPAN2 in Primetime.

Free & Equal Vice-Presidential Debate:

Las Vegas, NV November 2nd, 2008

Following the success of our Presidential Debate, a Vice-Presidential Debate was Held in Las Vegas, NV. Constitution Party candidate Darrell Castle, Independent candidate Matt Gonzalez, and Libertarian candidate Wayne Allyn Root all participated.

In the future, Free & Equal will sponsor debates for local, state, and federal offices. Without exception, Free & Equal will invite ALL BALLOT QUALIFIED CANDIDATES to debate.
